Yesterday I went to Warwick Castle to meet the Wedding Co-ordinator, and also to scout the venue in preparartion for a wedding at the end of next month. Firstly, my word what a stunning place to host a wedding. Secondly, how nice is Jonnie the Wedding Co-ordinator.Although I had visited the Castle on a few occasions before, once whilst running in the Castle to Castle 10K race, and also as a tourist, I had never really thought about shooting a wedding there. Wow, what a wedding venue. It has to be one of the grandest, if not the grandest, wedding venues in Warwickshire and the rest of the Midlands. It blew me away. I can totally understand why couples would aspire to get married in such magnificent surroundings.I also visited the Castle to get more of an idea on how Yasmin and Andy's wedding at the end of next month will flow. I had spoken to Jonnie, the Wedding Co-ordinator, a few times on the phone as well as a couple of email communications. My initial thoughts were how helpful and efficient he was. It's also nice to put a face to a name, especially in the wedding industry where so much faith is put into individuals. When Jonnie walked up to me yesterday and introduced himself, I wasn't disappointed. He was very relaxed and positive and talked me through the day. He showed me where the service, the drinks reception, the wedding breakfast and the celebrations are due to be held. Jonnie will be running the wedding on the day, so I have no doubt whatsoever that it will all be a success. It was really useful scouting the venue yesterday, and I look forward to going back again next week for Yasmin and Andy's 'Get to know you shoot'.

One of the benefits of being a wedding photographer is being able to visit such amazing venues. Yesterday I was given a visitors pass, which meant although I had my work hat firmly on, I still got easily distracted whilst walking around. For example, the drinks reception will be held at the conservatory - if the weather is kind - next to the Peacock Garden. Fingers crossed the Peacocks will be hanging around next month.

I then left the Peacock Garden and came across the end of the 'Flight of the Eagles' show. If you've never seen Eagles and Vultures in real life before, then this is a must. They are HUGE. Everyone watching was completely captivated, shame I missed the full show.

Anyway, I'm going off at an angle. More news next week about Warwick Castle. If you enjoyed reading this post, you might like this article I wrote last year about a similar wedding venue of Leeds Castle in Kent. Please feel free to leave a comment below, it's easy to do and always lovely to hear from people.
